A Couple Dents in My Fender and a Couple Rips in My Jeans

Today is love list Wednesday and what is more appropriate the celebrating the God that loves us endlessly.

This post isn't about recipes or fitness, but having one of those days when God is so apparent in life, that you can't help but overflow with joy!

This song by Francesca Battistelli is a great reminder that God only asks that we be ourselves and that he takes us the way we are, dings and all.

One of my favorite passages of scripture that has bits and pieces quote a lot, but that is even better as a whole:

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfections comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflections as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13 NIV

I actually prefer the King James version of verse 12 (For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.)

In God's heart we are:

I am always awed by God's love and plan for me, but sometimes it just seems even more clear. Life can be confusing, troubling, tough, and downright unfair. Lately, those darker parts of life seem to be making more frequent appearances. Thankfully, God is just and and constant and always keeps his promises, so I know that despite the hardship in life, that God always has a plan and he always loves us.

Here's to living our days knowing that we are enough and that God's love NEVER fails!

Feeling the Love

As I approach the end of WM's first post UPT TDY,  I am starting to feel the the love again. Kind of. I'm trying to embrace that feeling to get ready for the hubby's return.

I'm loving:

  • "The Relief of Imperfection" by Joan Web - This book has helped me feel a lot more at piece and I'm really loving it so far.

  • NPR: Morning Edition on the way to work
  • Finishing projects - It's just so satisfying
  • Crazy Girl by the Eli Young Band
  • Google +
  • Meringues
  • British Cop shows - a few examples are: Inspector Lewis, MI-5, Midsomer Murders (nerdy, I know, but they are terribly witty)
Inspector Lewis

  • The smell of horses
  • Water - lately I can't seem to get enough - weird!
I'll leave you with this wonderful quote I stumbled across in, "The Relief of Imperfection."

"To make relationships work we need courage more than repair and love more than insight."

Love List Wednesday

I realized after rereading one of my blogs that I use the world love a lot. I think this is because I seem to feel strongly about things and normally don't just "like" things. Things I just "like" don't get mentioned because I don't feel strongly enough about them to talk about them. An example of this would be I like furniture. I don't really talk about furniture because even though I enjoy comfortable and stylish furniture, it's not something I get excited about.

So, I guess my blog is things I feel passionately about. Things I love and things I don't love (like exercise).

On that note, here are some things I love:

  • Ice Cream
A Bouquet of Ice Cream - Delicious and Beautiful

  • Results - I've lost 6.75 inches off my body so far in the 30 Day Shred (Score!)
  • Discovering fun new websites, like pinterest!

  • Cute and meaningful jewelry
Hubs got me this for UPT graduation

  • Texas radio stations - even on the pop station they play popular country songs a lot!
  • Finishing a good book
  • Sewing projects

  • Soft fabric - like flannel and fleece
  • Star Trek - The Next Generation

  • Friends that are there for you
  • Singing along to the radio

I almost forgot - good thing I love CHOCOLATE!

Ever have one of those weeks where you just feel like you don't actually know what day it is. Ever. Well, I have them all the time and today was not exception. I was scanning through the fb news feed and I saw that Lauren over at Idle Hands had a blog about chocolate, so I immediately clicked on it! Then I realized it was her love list on Wednesday which meant that today is love list Wednesday!!! I figured I better get on it!

Thanks for the accidental reminder, Lauren!

Today, I am not feeling so loving. My wonderful flew away on an airplane to go to some AF training. He'll be gone for a whole monthish. I say boo to that! That's life though, so I'm going to push through the bad to embrace the good by reminding myself of things I love!

So, here's what I (chocolate) love (if you didn't get that, you should go back up and read Lauren's blog):

  • My hubby! I am so sad he'll be gone, but I will be ecstatic to see him when he's back.
  • Keebler Rainbow Chip Cookies - I can eat way too many in one sitting

  • Hubby's new Apple Air - so cute and cool
  • Silly pop songs that I shouldn't admit to liking
  • When actors from shows I like make cameos or early career appearances in other shows
See above video and photo below:
Fisher from Bones also in Katy Perry's video!
Clark from Bones

Early career appearance as a rapper in Numb3rs
Mr. Shue from Glee

Rapist Cop on Numb3rs (awkward)

  • Framboise Lambic - So amazing, if you're of age, you should try it

  • Mack - (I always list Mack) he's such a great companion, especially when the hubs is gone

On a side note, I hope all the Shredders out there are killing on Day 3 - I know E and I are!!
