Scarf Hunting

So, I've been scarf hunting the last couple days for the Scarf Swap and managed to come across two scarves I am IN LOVE WITH!! My inner Anglophile Book Nerd has found its clothing match. Tell me you aren't in love with these too? If you love these as much as I do, go here to purchase on etsy.

I'm more of a Persuasion girl myself. It's just such a sweeping romance where the nice girl gets the nice guy by being patient and being nice.

*Sigh* I am loving these!

Delicious Veggie Lasagna

Last week,  I made this Veggie lasagna for the hubs and I! It was really filling (flyboy didn't even miss his meat) and we had leftovers for days!

I did make a few changes to recipe, which are:

• I used premade red sauce, instead of making white. 
•        (My favorite brand is Muir Glen Organic in either Cabarnet Marinara or Tomato Basil)
• I couldn't find any mushrooms, so I doubled the carrots.
• Instead of cutting the carrots, buy a bag of matchstick carrots, they work perfectly
• Also, since I had premade sauce, I used no boil lasagna noodles and made sure to have enough sauce to get the noodles nice and moist.

This was a fantastic recipe, with a surprisingly small amount of cheese (perfect for those of us trying to eat healthy)!!

Hump Day

Boots for the Fall

I need some help from you guys! I'm trying to decide which fall boots to buy and some opinions could help me make a decision.

Able to tuck jeans into

Scarf Swap 2012

Who does't want a new scarf? Who doesn't want a chance to connect with someone new? I know I'm game for both! This means the Scarf Swap is a great way to kick off my fall! I heard about the swap from a fellow Pi Phi's blog who loved it last year and who is participating again.

The creator of the Scarf Swap explains why a scarf,

"Once paired up, you will send that lovely lady a fun {new} scarf for Fall.

With all of my swaps I've set a budget-- this time I'm going to suggest 

that your scarf be no more than $20. It can be more, it can be less... 

that is at your discretion and up to your deal-finding self!

Scarves are universal, one size fits all... so it's the perfect item to SWAP!

If your partner leaves their blog address, use that as a tool to get to know their style, 

favorite colors, or the climate of where they live... if they don't have a blog-- 

strike up a chat via email, Twitter, or Facebook to get insight into what they might like!

Or you may consider sending them an email to find out about their favorite colors, 

pattern preferences or even the football team they're rooting for this Fall for team color inspiration!

School and Productivity

The new semester is in full swing and I am already swimming in reading! Thankfully, I'm a fast reader, good note taker, and fantastic skimmer! Despite my ability to seemingly manage all these tasks, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. I thought I'd share some of my favs and a link to a blog that has some great tips for productivity - be it school or work life!

1. Paper Planner - I love my online calendar, but being able to physically jot things on the go seems to be a life saver for me! My personal fav is the Erin Condren life planner

2. Google Calendar - I can access this on the go, share events with my hubby, make events repeat themselves with only a few clicks, and color coordinate to my heart's desire. This makes a great calendar to look at to see what your week looks like!

3. Music without lyrics or music without lyrics you can understand. I love music, but my favorite songs can be distracting when I need to concentrate. Who doesn't want to sing along when "Wide Open Spaces" comes on? So, my solution is to listen to opera. Puccini is my current favorite. My french isn't good enough to pick up on what they're saying and I don't speak Spanish at all. The music is still interesting and stimulating since it's so dynamic!

4. Coffee - my caffeinated beverage of choice helps me kick start my day and it's pretty tasty too!

School starting always makes me think of one of my favorite chic flicks, "You've Got Mail". I always think that there's nothing like a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils to start the fall!
